I started this website because after creating my second website, a fanlisting to the Utena movie, I figured I needed a place to list them all. I may have only had two sites at the time, but I had plans for many more, and I figured that it would be a good idea to have one place where people could go to find out about them all. In addition to that, people could see the status of any website that I owned, so they would know what was going on if a site was on hiatus or whatever. And besides, I'd created some layouts that I wanted to keep to myself, and I had to use them somewhere. ;3

I chose the name Element Anime for this website because I noticed that in most anime series the characters have various elements which their attacks, personality etc are based on. Elements such as water, fire, light, earth, air, ice, and darkness seemed to be very important and used commonly in story lines for many animes. For example: in the series Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon, Sailor Mercury's element is ice, Sailor Mars' is fire, Sailor Jupiter's is earth, etc. And even in another totally unrelated series such as Pokemon, Pikachu’s element is electricity, Charmader's element is fire, Squirtle's element is water, etc. Sometimes an element wouldn't be left to just one character either, sometimes an entire series would be based around that theme.

So upon realizing that similarity between all of these anime series and how it could tie all anime together, I thought that that was something I wanted this site to represent. As the sites I had at the time and the sites I planned to have were all about different animes, and this site was to tie them all together I figured I would name my network-to-be after that, so Element Anime was born.
